CrossHere Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information CrossHere ("the App") collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it.
Information We Collect
- Account: the account identifier from Sign in with Apple, and the name Apple provides the first time you sign in (used as your default nickname). We do not collect your phone number, email, birthday, or other details
- Profile: the nickname and avatar you set
- Records: the photos you take or upload (and the thumbnails we generate), the text you write, each record's location and capture time, and the visibility you choose for it
- Friends: your invite code, your friends and pending friend requests, and the tag groups you assign to friends (including your block list)
- Subscription: your current subscription tier and expiration date. Payments are handled by Apple; we never receive your payment information
Location and Photos
- The App asks for and reads your location only when you tap "Take a photo here" to create a record, to set that record's location. We do not use background location and do not track you continuously
- When you upload an existing photo, the App reads only the GPS location of the one photo you select. It does not read the photo's other metadata or access any other photos in your library
- If you have already granted location access, the map can show how far you are from a friend's record. This is calculated on your device; your live location is never uploaded
Who Can See Your Information
- Your record locations are visible to the friends you choose. Every record is visible only to you by default. When you set a record to "All friends" or to certain tag groups, those friends can see its location, creation time, and your nickname and avatar on the map
- Friends can see the photo and text only if they have also left a record nearby
- Your nickname and avatar are visible to your friends and to people who send you friend requests
- The tags you give friends (including your block list) are visible only to you; they are never told
- We do not sell your information, show ads, or use any third-party tracking or analytics tools
Storage and Service Providers
Your data is stored with our cloud provider, Supabase, in a data center in Tokyo, Japan (AWS ap-northeast-1). Photos and text are delivered only through short-lived links, and friends' devices never cache them.
Deletion
- You can delete any record at any time; its photo and text are permanently deleted from our servers
- You can delete your account from the Profile tab. Your account, all records, photos, avatar, and friendships are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered
- Signing out or deleting your account clears drafts and sign-in data from your device
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
When this policy changes, we will update the date on this page.
